Hey, I’m Björn..
..a computer science student, studying at Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences with a strong focus on IT security & social engineering.
My IT journey started in 2013 when I was programming small Java Minecraft plugins. Later I went to SAE Frankfurt to study Games Programming and developed a small rendering framework with C++ and OpenGL called “Nebula Engine“.
From time to time I also post about my favorite recipes, no matter if lunch or dinner meals, muffins or cakes, and books I read, ranging from sci-fi to psychology, over business to IT. Anything.
In my free-time I’m in another universe, playing spreadsheets in space or commonly known as EVE Online. From time to time I’m also working on a wiki plugin for the popular EVE Online authentication system “Alliance Auth” called “aa-simplewiki” with more than 5.000 downloads.

Games Programming
I studied Games Programming (Bachelor of Science) at SAE Institute Frankfurt and finished in 2020. During that time I focused on graphics programming and also programmed my own small rendering engine.
Computer Science
I am currently studying Computer Science at Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences (Bachelor of Science). We’re learning topics about anything ranging from programming over maths to databases.
IT Security & Social Engineering
Over the last few years I became very keen on learn as much as possible about IT-Security, with a specialization in countering social engineering attacks, meaning protecting people from manipulation attempts.
Working Student
During the day I work as a working student for Open-Xchange in Release Management (DevOps Engineer) with Golang, Jenkins, Gitlab, Docker, Kubernetes, Linux and Jira. We develop B2B mailing software, used by a wide variety of companies around the globe.
Hybrid Workout
To make sure I’m staying fit and healthy I work out 3-4 times per week, either in a gym or doing calisthenics at home (which I can highly recommend to anyone). Go to the gym when you want to socialize, stay at home when you want to listen to music at full volume. Amazing.
Gaming
In the evening I’m usually a pilot of an amazing spacecraft, supporting my alliance in EVE Online, joining in on massive space battles, commanding hundreds of pilots at the same time while having to communicate with people all round the world, from Germany over the US to China.
Cooking & Baking
To this day I love cooking and baking. I am sharing my best recipes here on my blog.
You will find amazing recipes for muffins, cakes (you have to try my apple-cinnamon cake!), to amazing meals during the day.
Reading
In my free time I focus on reading books, from psychology and philosophy to business and IT. Some of these books feature “Meditations” by Marcus Aurelius, “How To Avoid A Climate Disaster” by Bill Gates, or simply “The Culture Series” by Ian M. Banks.
Programming
Sometimes I’m developing open-source applications, especially plugins for “alliance-auth”, which is an authorization and organization python & django app, used by hundreds of groups in the video game EVE Online, no matter if they have 50 users, or 15,000 users.
